My Stampin’ Up! Legendary Ride card did not take anywhere near as long to create as I thought it would! I was initially daunted by the number of dies in the die set. Plus this type of card making is not generally my style. However we need to challenge ourselves and I was pleasantly surprised!

Putting all the die pieces together was quite intuitive once I had the Basic Gray outline piece laid down. You could then see how it all went together from there.

One suggestion when you do this build is remember to add the wheel hubs before adding the cycle frame so the strut sits over the hubs. Plus then add your mudguards after the frame is in place. Using foil card for the mudguards makes a huge difference to how the finished motorcycle appears.

Once the bike was assembled it was time to work out a card design. I heat embossed the greeting to add more gloss to the card appearance. The Ready to Ride papers have a sheet of smaller card front sized designs that can be used to layer on your cards. Pumpkin Pie is one of the colours used and is the only bright colour in this paper pack. The rest are neutral colours.

I found the embossed card in my scrap drawer and thought it looked like oil spills and would be a great addition to the card, which then dictated how the layout would work. It’s from the Stripes and Splatters embossing folder set. It doesn’t show up well in the photos but I added Wink of Stella to the bike seat die cut.

So don’t be put off by this die set. It really is quite amazing what you can create from it! Also if you order the Legendary Ride bundle and the matching Ready to Ride papers you will qualify for a free Sale-a-bration item because your order will be over $90AUD. Be quick to order though as Sale-a-bration ends February 28. Good news too, there have been new catalogue items added to the Sale-a-bration selection list! See what is available here.
