The Handcrafted elements dies make gorgeous Christmas cards! Look at the embossed detail on the Christmas ornament die that comes in that die set. You may have missed these dies in the Mini Catalogue because they are not associated with a stamp set. Click here to see them. In my next post I will share a couple of cards I made using the other dies in the collection.
At first I was puzzled as to how the oval die in the set worked because in the Mini catalogue samples it was added as a multiple layered element on the card sample. I can be a bit slow on the uptake sometimes and it wasn’t until I checked out Pinterest ideas for this set that I put two and two together! Light bulb moment!!!!!
As you can see from my samples here, the oval die is designed to fit behind the ornament die cut out! The combination makes for some beautiful decorating possibilities. I used gold foil for the card above and then highlighted the gold by using the gold embossed Joyful Designer Specialty Papers as a background layer.
The Christmas Classics bundle was used for the greeting. Adding the Cherry Cobbler underlay to the stamped sentiment lifts the greeting and makes it more noticeable.
For a different look die cut the oval piece in white cardstock and decorate using Iridescent Pearls. Add some Silver & White ribbon to finish off a very elegant looking Christmas card.
That’s the Christmas Classics stamp set in action again for the greeting. You have the ability with this stamp set to create a range of individual greetings by mixing and matching the various stamp greetings in the set. Versatility! It makes a set much better value to purchase!
If you are after some other Christmas card ideas check out this post and this one.
Do go and have a good look at the Hancrafted Elements die set. I think you will be impressed with the range of dies in the set.
Happy Crafting!
