While away on holiday this week my DH asked me to make a thankyou card to give our holiday unit complex managers. Fine, no problem, until I realised I had only bought Christmas stamps with me to create items for my November class. A dilemma, until I remembered at the last minute I had popped into my craft stash my new Thinlits that had arrived the day before we went away.
Now the Thinlits are a brand new line released by Stampin’Up! to be used in the Big Shot to create ready made swing/flip cards.
Here is what they look like –
And here is what I made –
They are very hard to photograph well! Hopefully you can see how the central cut out piece swings across when you flip the card open. I used the Circle Card thinlits for my card but I have added an extra flip piece on the right side of the card. If you use the thinlit as seen in the item photo it will cut the card off at the right hand fold and that will be your finished card size.
I saw an item on Patty Bennett’s blog where she popped one end of the card through the Thinlit end so as it is not cut off when you run your card through the Big Shot. See here to have that explained a bit more clearly!
I was pretty pleased with my first attempt at creating with my new Thinlits and I may include one of these cards in my November Christmas Extravaganza classes.
If you would like to order yourself some Thinlits then you can – just go to my online store (Shop Now button to the right of this entry) and place your order.
I’ll be back again once I get sorted out at home to show you some of the cards we will be making in my November class.
Brilliant! Great save too. 🙂
