Welcome to our very first Eureka Stampers Blog Hop. If you have reached my blog you will have come via Linda’s lovely blog or I may be your starting point! Whichever way, sit back and enjoy the talents of some of my terrific downline team members.
My first project was inspired by the recent Craft & Quilt Show where I was enthused enough to pull out my patchwork again. Looking at the new Designer series Paper Stacks that arrived in my Big Brown Box last week I was reminded of patchwork fabrics with the All Abloom paper stack. So I decided to try out my new Flower Frenzy Bigz die to create a “patchwork” flower.
I had a lovely time playing around with different patterns of paper and choosing which colour to use in each layer. It was so much like doing a piece of patchwork. The paper stack has 48 sheets with 12 double sided patterns and 4 of each design.
So here is my creation!
I curled the petals up a bit with my bonefolder to give the flower a bit of depth. Do you like the new Flower Frenzy die? It has even more images than I have used here, there are 9 shapes on the die.
The Crumb Cake card edges were sponged using Crumb Cake ink to give the card a vintage feel. And check out the greeting, I faux dry embossed it using white craft ink and Lost Lagoon dye ink. I hadn’t done this technique for a long time and had to pull out my technique folder to remember how to do it!
The greeting is from a new stamp set that will be one of my favourites, always love a good greeting stamp set! This one is called And Many More. It contains 23 sentiment stamps for every known occasion. You can also see the new cute In Colour sequins in this close up photo. Some paper piercing added to the patchwork/applique feel of the overall card.
Okay now for my second project! My Mum is turning 90 next week so I wanted to create something shiny and special for her. As you may know if you follow my blog I am in love with the Blended Bloom stamp and I enjoy coming up with different ways to use it apart from colouring it in all the time. So for my Mum’s card I gold embossed it!
Doesn’t it look great! Fussy cutting it out and placing it over the Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Paper makes the flower stand out beautifully. I added depth by fussy cutting out a second embossed image of the flower centre.
The stamp set Memorable Moments was embossed in gold onto vellum and cut out and placed on the card. For the main card I used Brushed Gold card stock. All up a very golden effort!!!!
I know my Mum is going to love the card! She keeps all the cards I make her and has them on display permanently!!!!
I hope you enjoyed my creations and that I have inspired you to try something new. So now it is time for you to move onto the lovely Rebecca’s blog.
Thanks for joining in our Blog Hop!
Cheers
Janine
