Simple Stamping with Circle Sayings

My simple stamping with Circle Sayings has turned out rather well if I might say so! Simple stamping can present challenges to many of us who have been stamping for years and years. We get very used to adding lots of layers and detailed die cuts on our cards. To par it back to ink, card and stamps can be difficult.

Stampin’ Up! issue a challenge each month for us to create a simple stamping card. Mine doesn’t fit the brief for this month which was a thank you card using a favourite new In Color. I should have saved it for a birthday simple stamping challenge however I was so pleased with it I had to share it with you now. Plus the Circle Sayings stamp set is a lot of fun to work with,, especially that cup cake image.

The card base is Thick Basic White. This card stock is a heavier weight and makes for perfect card bases that won’t collapse. The images and greeting were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I was going to use Stampin’ Blends for the colouring but I realised just in time that the Blends would soak through the card front and show on the inside of the card. So Stampin’ Write Markers were used instead for the colouring. Bubble Bath for the icing, Pecan Pie for the cake and Pool Party for the wrapper.

I love the new marker pen redesign. The new bullet tip is no longer scratchy and allows you to colour in tight space easily. The brush tip is nicer to use too. The tip is more like a Stampin’ Blends pen now.

The Circle Sayings stamp set also comes as a bundle matched with the 2 3/8 inch circle punch. The punch will enable you to punch out the circle designs and greeting stamps in the stamp set.

I hope seeing my simple stamping using Circle Sayings inspires you to try out a simple stamping card. If you are just starting out making cards this is a super simple design to get you started.

Happy Stamping!
