One More Sunburst Card to Show You.

Spread the love

Here is one more version of the sunburst card we are doing in class this month. It is the portrait version using the same colour combos as in the previous landscape card from a couple of posts ago.

I got the colour combo from my Stampin’Up! Colour Coach – love using that for colour inspiration! See it on page 139 of the catalogue. At $24.95 it is great value as you will use it constantly. If you feel you just have to have one you can pop onto my online store and add it to your shopping basket. Stampin’Up! have made some improvements to the online store and it will now remember items you place in your basket for when you return next time to complete an order. BIG IMPROVEMENT! Thanks Stampin’Up!

Colour combo here was on the Bermuda Bay card and combined Bermuda Bay with Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. Goes so well with the Early Espresso background.

  1. Thanks for your request! My measurements are based on Australian card stock sizing . Here are the instructions I gave my class.

    SUNBURST TECHNIQUE
Patterned papers or card scraps to emboss
    A5 card folded
    Matt – 14.3 x 10 cm
    Neutral card matt – 13.8 x 9.5 cm
    1. Select 4 patterned papers or mix of paper & embossed card. Cut into 10.2 x 3.8 cm pieces. Cut these on the diagonal into 2 halves. Arrange pieces into sunburst pattern.
    2. Cut matt – landscape layout – 13.8 x 7 cm
    – portrait layout – 9.5 x 9 cm
    3. Mark with pencil halfway point along matt bottom edge to create starting point. (6.9cm for landscape, 4.75cm for portrait card)
    4. Rub over matt with adhesive, starting in middle of card, commence gluing patterned pieces with pointy end just going over marked spot. Continue arranging other pieces either side of first piece, keeping to pattern until matt is completely covered.
    5. Paper will overhang edges, trim this off using any scraps to fill in any gaps.
    6. Adhere decorated piece to neutral matt. Add ribbon & sentiment at this stage. Adhere to coloured card matt.
    7. Adhere to folded card base.
