Okay finally a change from waterfall cards – although I do have one more I want to show you in another post!
The blue version of this card caught my eye on Marelle Taylor’s webpage. I love Marelle’s work and often turn to her page for inspiration. Thanks Marelle for showing us your lovely creations! There is a link to Marelle’s page on my side bar.
The minute I saw this card I knew I had to CASE it! I loved the colours and the stamps used. It did motivate me as I had the Medallion stamp sitting on my desk waiting to be christened.
Then having done a blue version I decided to try a colour combination of my own and came up with the Kiwi Kiss version, which I also think looks pretty good.
The technique used is Emboss Resist combined with Emerging Colour. These two techniques do somewhat overlap each other. To create this look you stamp images over your blank card in one or more colours. Your main image is then stamped in Versamark and embossed in clear embossing powder. The whole card is then brayered with matching ink and the excess rubbed off the embossed image with a tissue, as the embossed image resists the ink.
Stamp sets used here were Medallion, Vintage Vogue, Occasional Greetings, Best Yet and Very Vintage Wheel. Card colours are Very Vanilla, Brocade Blue, Night of Navy for the blue card and for the green one, Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss and Lovely Lilac.
Ink colours are Brocade Blue, Night of Navy and Bordering Blue for the blue card. for the other one I used Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron and Lovely Lilac.
Extras are Brocade Blue wide grosgrain ribbon, oval punch, scallop oval punch, Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon, small oval punch and sponges.
I do like the Medallion stamp and can see it will have many wonderful creative uses.
Janine, these are beautiful! I love your choice of colour. You have inspired me to mount my medallion stamp and have a go! Cheers Jenn
