DSP Zig Zag Card

Spread the love

Okay finally made good on my promise to show you the other version of a zig zag card which we will be doing in class this month.

This is the version using Designer Series Paper. For this one I have used paper from the hostess set of DSP papers Cheerful Treat. I will be making some more samples and can’t wait to do one in Paisley Petals DSP.

If you would like to come along to my class please send me an email at jannic@bigpond.com to book your place.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look!

  1. Thanks for the kind comment Sandra! Here are the instructions for you.

    Card in 2 colours or DSP – 12 x 8 inches
    Neutral card – 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 inches
    1. Score every 2 inches along long edge of card/DSP.
    2. Measure from top of card downright short side of card, 2 inches and mark in pencil. Turn card 180 degrees and repeat on other short side.
    3. Using a ruler and craft knife cut between the 2 pencil marks.
    4. If using cardstock, stamp background over both card sides.
    5. Punch along diagonal edges using a border punch.
    6. Zigzag fold each card piece at 4inches & 8 inches – do one piece one way, the other piece the other way.
    7. On unfolded scorelines on both pieces pencil mark as follows –
At the 2 inch score, mark at 1 inch from base
6 inch score, mark at 11/2 inches
10 inch score, mark at 2 inches.
    8. On one piece cut along scoreline from base to pencil mark. On other piece cut from diagonal edge along scoreline down to pencil mark.
    9. Starting at shortest section, interlock the 2 pieces at the cut section, repeat with other 2 cut sections.
    10. Decorate as desired. Attach extra card piece to back for additional strength.
